Writing is solitary work.
Critique and Accountability Groups, An Exclusive Benefit for Members of the Nonfiction Authors Association
NFAA members join on Zoom on the 4th Wednesday each month at 10am PT / 1pm ET. You will be guided through a simple critique and accountability process by Amberly Finarelli, Director of Operations for NFAA and a talented editor, writer and former literary agent.

What to Expect from the Critique and Accountability Group Meetings
- You will learn how to establish what kind of feedback you would like to receive and what kind of accountability you want, if any.
- Next, you will be randomly assigned a writing partner and the two of you will join together for a brief meeting in a Zoom breakout room to discuss your respective projects, clarify what kind of feedback and support you are each seeking, and exchange contact information.
- After connecting with your critique partner, you will return to the main Zoom meeting room to discuss remaining questions.
- Plan to share 15 to 20 pages of your manuscript, article, or whatever nonfiction you want to share with your critique partner.
- You and your partner will each provide constructive (and kind!) feedback to each other over the next three weeks. You may also choose to establish an accountability plan.
These groups provide a fun and supportive way to connect with fellow writers and get the feedback and accountability you’re seeking. If you’re writing a book or article and are finding yourself stuck, or simply need someone to help keep you accountable to a completion date, let the NFAA Critique and Accountability Group help you meet your goal.
Participation in these meetings if FREE and exclusively available to members of the Nonfiction Authors Association.
Members can register for upcoming Critique group meetings from your member home page.
